COVID-19 Update
“Safety first, safety always.”
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. We follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We have been following the activities of these agencies so we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. This allows us to make sure our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You will see a number of changes when it is time for your child’s next appointment. These changes have been made to help protect our patients, parents/guardians, and staff. For example:
- Our office will speak with you before your visit to ask some screening questions about your child. You will be asked those same questions again before entering the office. Upon arrival please contact our front desk at 919-845-8212 to let us know you are here. You may check-in using our Modento app as well. Please remain in your car until we call you in for the appointment. It is essential that you arrive on time (or even a little early) so that we can stay on schedule. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled.
- If your child is comfortable attending the appointment on their own, when called, please walk them to the door to help with the screening and health history update. You can then wait in your car and we will let you know when the appointment is complete. If this is not possible, then be advised that we recommend only one parent/guardian accompany your child during their visit. The waiting room is open at this time and we ask families to practice social distancing as much as possible. Please make sure your child brings a personal iPad, tablet, or toy if they would like to have something to play with during their appointment.
- Masks are recommended for anyone entering the office at this time. If COVID levels in the area become “high,” we may require masks again. We will continue to monitor the community levels and adjust as needed. Hand sanitizer is available to all who enter the office. Thank you for working with us to protect you and your family.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This will include spacing in the office and/or use of our single operative rooms.
- Our team will look a bit different than what our families are used to seeing but I assure you that we will still be smiling underneath our masks. Additionally, our team will be wearing scrub jackets and/or caps. Patients may want a blanket or sweatshirt because the office will be a little cooler.
There may be other adjustments over time in order to keep up with the most current recommendations. We will do our best to keep you informed of these changes. At any point, if you have questions or concerns, please ask a team member or doctor. We are here to make you feel comfortable with choosing Raleigh Pediatric Dentistry for the dental care of your child. Thank you.
“Safety first, safety always!”
