About Dr. Dave and the Raleigh Pedo Team

Dr. Dave grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina where he attended Underwood Elementary School, West Millbrook Middle School, and Millbrook High School. He went on to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with a BS in Biology. In 1999 he graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry. Dr. Dave then completed three additional years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry and received a masters degree in dental public health at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, as well as the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and the Center for Disabilities and Development. He maintains an active affiliation with the UNC School of Dentistry as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and with the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as a guest lecturer. Dr. Dave is also a member of the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Raleigh/Wake County Dental Society. In 2006, Dr. Dave achieved Diplomate status as a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Donna Nero
Donna is originally from upstate New York where she worked at Cornell University.  In Raleigh, she has held administrative positions in real estate, eye care, and general dentistry.  Her love for children has brought her to the Raleigh Pediatric Dentistry team.  She enjoys bowling, swimming (in her pool), baseball (Go Yankees!), going to the beach, and most of all her three grandchildren- Jackson, Kristy, and Sophia.

Kelly Whitt
Kelly graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill Dental Assisting Program and went on to specialize in Pediatric Dental Assisting.  She has over ten years experience in dentistry and is DANB certified.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and her two daughters, Hannah and Morgan.  Kelly loves amusement parks, snow skiing, water parks and all kid movies!

Ginger Jacques
Ginger has held administrative roles at schools, hospitals, airlines, and church.  She is now thrilled to be part of the Raleigh Pediatric Dental Team.  She stays busy with family and church activities.  She enjoys reading, gardening, exercise (most of the time), traveling, and spending time with her husband, Danny!
Crystal Gay
Crystal is a certified dental assistant from Tarboro, NC with fifteen years of dental experience. She began her career as an orthodontic assistant in 1990 and switched to pediatric dentistry in 2001. She enjoys working with children, exercising and playing with her dog Kobe.
Kimberly Paige Smith
Kimberly grew up in Raleigh and attended East Carolina University and Johnston Community College. After working in sales and marketing, she went back to school at Wake Tech for a degree in Dental Assisting and has received DANB certification. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and loves the beach, reading, and kid-friendly activities!
